Lee Carlson

About Me

Hi! I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 19 years of experience in public and private settings. I enjoy working with adults and couples from all walks of life, supporting people with a wide range of emotional, relational, and life challenges. I have a particular interest in helping people change patterns of thinking, behaviour, and relating that developed earlier in life.

My primary approach is Schema Therapy, which explores how early experiences shape patterns in thoughts, emotions, and relationships. By gaining insight into these patterns, clients can begin to meet their emotional needs in healthier, more flexible ways.

My style is warm, friendly, and empathic, while also being active and collaborative. I sometimes use humour and metaphors to help clients see difficulties from new perspectives. I work flexibly to suit each client’s needs, goals, and personality.

Taking time to understand each client’s story helps me build an individualised understanding of both the challenges people face and the strengths they bring. I share my ideas openly and invite feedback so that we can work together toward meaningful, lasting change.
